NeuroCalm Gemmo combines three mother macerates of French buds in a liquid formula dosed at 5%. At a dose of 15 drops, it provides 12.5 mg of linden, 12.5 mg of hawthorn and 12.5 mg of fig, expressed as a dry-plant equivalent. This balanced distribution acts on three closely linked dimensions: nervous relaxation, the release of physical tension and digestive comfort.
Linden to slow nervous activity
Linden is the formula’s central active ingredient. As the day comes to an end, falling asleep requires a gradual reduction in wakefulness and alertness signals. The nervous system must move from a state geared towards action to a calmer mode compatible with sleep.
In certain linden-bud extracts, particularly those of Tilia tomentosa, the relaxing activity involves GABA-A receptors. These receptors act as a brake: their activation reduces the transmission of nerve messages and limits the excitability of brain networks. This mechanism helps explain the traditional use of linden when the mind remains too active, thoughts follow one another or inner tension delays bedtime.
Linden is therefore included to support relaxation, facilitate the transition to sleep and help preserve a calmer night.
Hawthorn to calm the physical dimension of stress
Nervous tension does not manifest only as intrusive thoughts. It may also maintain a feeling of physical agitation, high muscle tone and general difficulty “switching off”. In this state, the autonomic nervous system remains geared towards alertness when it should gradually promote rest.
Hawthorn complements linden by supporting this physical component. In our formula, hawthorn helps to support relaxation and create a physical state that is more conducive to falling asleep. It is particularly relevant when tiredness is present but the body still seems to be operating in alert mode.
Fig to connect relaxation and intestinal comfort
Fig provides a third pathway focused on the digestive system. The digestive tract constantly communicates with the brain through nerves, particularly the vagus nerve, as well as hormonal and immune messengers. Conversely, a period of stress may alter digestive sensations and make relaxation more difficult.
The presence of fig therefore aims to support intestinal well-being and prevent digestive sensations from becoming an additional signal that keeps the body awake. Its role is more indirect than that of linden: it complements preparation for sleep by acting on an area frequently associated with nervous tension.
Fig is a fruit tree of Mediterranean origin, long used in various traditions for digestive functions.
A formula derived from gemmotherapy
Gemmotherapy developed from the work of the Belgian physician Pol Henry in the late 1950s. It uses growing plant tissues, mainly buds and young shoots, in the form of macerates.
NeuroCalm Gemmo stands out through its alcohol-free glycerinated aqueous carrier, its 5% dosage and the French origin of its three buds. Our product is from organic farming. The water used in its formulation benefits from the Plocher method, a specific process applied during product preparation.
Finally, the dropper format makes it easy to adjust intake between 5 and 15 drops per day.
